ការចុះហត្ថលេខាលើ MOU ឆ្នាំ២០០១ បង្ហាញពីឆន្ទៈនយោបាយ និងបំណងរួម ក្នុងការរៀបចំក្របខ័ណ្ឌមួយដែលកម្ពុជា-ថៃអាចទទួលយកបាន ដើម្បីជាមូលដ្ឋានទាញយកប្រយោជន៍រួមពីធនធាននៅក្នុងតំបន់ដែនសមុទ្រត្រួតគ្នា និងជំរុញការកំណត់ព្រំដែនសមុទ្រស្របតាមច្បាប់អន្តរជាតិ។
The signing of MOU-2001 reflects the genuine political will and common intent of Cambodia and Thailand to pursue a mutually acceptable framework for the joint exploitation of resources in the Overlapping Claim Area and advancing maritime boundary delimitation in accordance with international law.
